PRAYAGRAJ: Authorities in Prayagraj is most likely to shut schools for classes 6-8 from December 15 onwards. According to reports, school principals have decided to not open the campus for class 6-8 and have sent a report to the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) informing them of the decision.
Infact, the number of students in class 9-12 is also very low and most of the students have preferred to take online classes instead of coming to school at the time of the pandemic. According to principals, coronavirus cases are rapidly increasing and hence they have taken the decision to shut the schools for classes 6-8 for now.
On November 24, Uttar Pradesh Board Secretary Divya Kant Shukla issued a letter to the DIOS of all the districts and asked for feedback on reopening of classes for junior high school.
Almost 70 per cent of schools principals unanimously decided not to open the schools from December 15 onwards. The DIOS has forwarded the school principals’ report to upper authorities.
